Today we decided to make dinner for E's parents. We bought pork chops on sale at Apple Market yesterday and I've let them marinade overnight. The marinade was very simple! 3/4 cup soy sauce, 1/4 cup lemon juice, a tablespoon of chili sauce (I use sriracha), and 1/2 cup brown sugar. I put them all in a shallow glass pan and flipped the meat halfway through the night. Since we didn't think about inviting them over until last minute, our thoughts on side dishes changed. We decided to go downtown to the Cosentino's Market to get their awesomely huge twice baked potatoes. They offer three varieties, but the one we always get is bacon and cheddar. Keep in mind these are 6 inches long and overflowing in potato-y goodness for just $1.99 each. One can easily be split for two people and still have some left over.

This is my second time at this market. What I learned today is that there is 15 minute parking right in front or you can go to the garage on the side of the market and park for 30 minutes for free. Be smart and use the elevator to go down to the store instead of walking aroundto the front door in the "blizzard of '09" like I did.
The market doesn't have an ad flyer, but it does have a website.
http://www.cosentinos.com where you can check out the weekly specials. It's open from 6am to 10pm everyday. If you're big on seafood, you'll be pleased to know they'll steam your lobster for FREE! Overall there prices aren't the cheapest available, but they are an excellent specialty store. I personally like getting a scoop of gelado to walk around the store with. This is a definite store to check out if you're in the area!
